Niger’s Governor Abubakar Bello, who denounced the deadly attack and murder, urged communities to remain calm as security agents pulled back to change their strategy and did not completely abandon them.

“The military evacuated the corpses of the valiant officers who died in face-off with the bandits and who withdrew for a while to review their strategy. They have neither left nor abandoned the communities, ”he said.

He said growing banditry and kidnappings in parts of the state call for constant restructuring, stressing that the government and security agencies have remained steadfast and will ensure that criminals are eliminated.
