Taraba Governor, Darius Ishaku receives the COVID-19 vaccine



Taraba State, Governor Darius Ishaku has taken the first jab of the Oxford Astrazeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

This is coming two weeks after the vaccine arrived in Jalingo the state capital, through the Yola international airport.

According to the Governor, the arrival of the Oxford Astrazeneca COVID-19 vaccine will help in reducing the mortality rate of the pandemic.

Governor Ishaku called for a seamless implementation of the vaccine rollout, noting that he is optimistic that by the year 2022 all Nigerians would have been vaccinated.

He urged health workers in the state to take advantage of the exercise to boost their immunity as they provide health care services.

The Governor disabused the minds of residents on the misconception that the vaccines are not safe and called for more sensitization.

The speaker of the state house of Assembly, the SSG, and other executive council members also joined the queue in receiving the vaccine.
