Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has explained why he substituted Marcus Rashford for Paul Pogba during their 1-0 win against AC Milan in San Siro.

According to him, Rushford had a “little twinge” during the game on Thursday night, adding that he hopes it’s nothing serious.

Rashford was subbed off at half-time, with Paul Pogba taking his place and the Frenchman went ahead to score the decisive goal a few minutes after his introduction off the bench.

The goal helped the former Premier League champions advance to the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

United will now face a nervous wait on whether Rashford is fit for Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final against Leicester.

“He had a little twinge,” Solskjaer said in his post-match press conference.

“We couldn’t take the risk with him. Hopefully he won’t be too bad.”
