VP inaugurates boreholes in Nasarawa

AS part of the programme to commemorate his 64th birthday, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, on Monday inaugurated bore holes in four communities under Lafia emirate council area of the Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State to commemorate his 64th birthday in the state.

Osinbajo also doled out N5m to fifty vulnerable men and women to cushion the effect of COVID-19 second wave.

Those four benefitting communities are Manu Ankuza, Kanzewa, Ammah community and Lafia South.

Osinbajo, while inaugurating the project in Lafia, said the rationale behind the gesture was due to the love the citizens of the state, including the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage, and the Lafia Emirate council have for him.

The Vice President, who was represented by his Special Assistant, Mr Gambo Manzo, said they were in Lafia to express joy and thank the emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad (retd.), and the emirate council for founding Osinbajo worthy of the traditional title of Madugun Lafia (a person that leads and others follow).
