Nigerian songstress, Simi has been adjudged the winner of the Songwriter of the Year category at this year’s Headies awards.

The category is a non-voting category for the writer of a song (that meets the judges’ requirements of excellence, composition, arrangement, rendition) in the year under review. Nominees in the category were;
