The first runner-up of MTN Project Fame West Africa Season 7, Ruky Olotu, says that her new song titled, Voodoo Love, is her own unique way of celebrating love.

She told Sunday Scoop, “The song, which was produced by Fibre, boasts of an afro-house spiritual sound, inspired by the true nature of an African heart in love. To this heart, love is a celebration. The song also seeks to show love as the epitome of our existence, believing true love to be magical and mystifying.”

Recalling her journey into the music industry, Olotu said, “I began my journey into the music industry with Project Fame. Shortly afterwards, I formed an all-girl band called, R-Cube, that was made up of my sister, Ruona, and a cousin, Rubunu. In 2015, the band released its debut song and video titled, Show Dem. We followed that up with appearances at top events such as ‘Industry Night’ alongside artistes like Cynthia Morgan, Phyno and Lil Kesh.

“We also performed at Freedom Hall’s Women Arise concert, together with Ruby Gyang, Esther and Oyinkan; as well as Felabration 2016. In 2016, the band took a break as members decided to pursue their individual interests. That was when I went solo. I went on to release my debut Extended Play album, Brave Love, in March 2018.”
