Labour reacts as Bello sacks HoS, names replacement

The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has sacked the state Head of Service, Deborah Ogunmola.

The governor also approved the appointment of Mrs Hannah Odiyo as the new Head of Civil Service.

Her appointment was contained in a press statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Folashade Ayoade.

Until her appointment, Mrs. Odiyo was the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Kogi State.

According to the statement, Bello thanked the outgoing Head of Civil Service, Mrs Deborah Ogunmola for her forthrightness and contributions to the Civil Service Reforms in the State while in Office.

Meanwhile, the organised Labour in the state has lauded the governor for appointing Mrs Odiyo as the new Head of Civil Service.

A statement issued on Thursday by the state Chairman Nigeria Labour Congress, Onuh Edoka and the Trade Union Congress, Ranti Ojo, described the appointment of Mrs Odiyo as a victory for Kogi workers.

The labour leaders, while congratulating Odiyo on her new appointment, promised to cooperate and work harmoniously with her to achieve success in her new position.
