At a recent court hearing at the Federal High Court in Abuja, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been asked to unfreeze the bank accounts of the 20 #EndSARS promoters.
The ruling was given by Justice Ahmed Mohammed and this comes after an agreement was reached by parties in the suit to settle the matter amicably.
Giving his ruling, he said that all processes filed in respect of the case are hereby deemed to have been withdrawn and added that the November 4, 2020 order is also void.
He then proceeded to give the order that all the accounts of the affected persons be immediately unfrozen.
At the hearing of the case, the presiding judge proceeded to strike out the suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1384/2020 filed by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and in respect of which the ex-parte order freezing the accounts for 180 days was made on November 4, 2020.
