Lagos advises on compliance as evaluators visit schools

THE Director-General, Lagos State Office of Education Quality Assurance, Mrs. Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, has advised public and private schools head teachers, administrators and parents to ensure total compliance with COVID-19 protocols.

In a statement by the head, public affairs, OEQA, Olaniran Emmanuel, Seriki-Ayeni  said that evaluators from the OEQA would soon be visiting schools to monitor compliance.

She also urged schools to make use of online learning and blended learning system that would help depopulate students in classrooms and ensure social distancing in sitting arrangements

 “School administrators of public and private schools have the responsibility of ensuring total compliance because evaluators from the Office of Education Quality Assurance will be visiting schools to monitor compliance.

Health and safety guidelines which include the provision of soap, wash hand basin, alcohol-based hand sanitisers, thermometer and instructional safety signs must be adhered to. Wearing of face mask and maintaining social distancing must also be strictly observed to avert further spread of the virus.

“Schools should access online learning and blended learning system that will help depopulate students in classrooms and ensure proper sitting arrangement in line with social distancing,

 She urged school administrators to use sanitation managers who would enforce the environmental, safety and health protocols.

 Should there be a positive COVID-19 outbreak in any school, Seriki-Ayeni told school administrators to make phone calls and send emails to the Lagos State Ministry of Health, Lagos State Ministry of Education and Office of Education Quality Assurance.
