Hoodlums strangle Imo 35-year- old graduate in workshop

Suspected hoodlums have killed a 35-year-old cobbler, Chibuike Azubuike, at his workshop in Owerri, Imo State.

PUNCH Metro gathered that Azubuike was found dead at his workshop adjacent NCDC office on Egbu Road, Owerri.

The deceased, who hailed from Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, was a graduate of the Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri.

A neighbour, who confided in our correspondent, said the victim’s corpse was tied to his workshop.

The source said, “Azubuike opened a business outlet where he repaired footwear. He was found dead in the morning at his workshop, with his legs tied and his hands tied to his back.”

Another source said the victim had been buried.

“His father said he did not have money for any police case. His remains were buried in his village. He was the first child of the family,” the source added.

A spokesperson for the state police command, Orlando Ikeokwu, said the murder was not reported at any police station.
