Singer, Oluseun Olayemi, aka Imagine Great, has said that his music is not just for the sake of entertainment alone but also to address all forms of evil. The singer who recently released an album titled, They Need Me, told Sunday Scoop, “My sound is very unique and special. It is always going to address issues of all kinds. Every form of evil and things that are not right would be exposed by my music. For example, my song, Iyawo Mi, buttresses the importance of understanding between couples, in the light of the soaring divorce rates all over the world. My Star Shine, one of the songs I released recently, is about people that have been hustling for so long and should be at the top but are being held down by one thing or the other. The song encourages them that it is time to rise and shine.”
Noting that he started making music professionally in 2010, Imagine Great stated that he has had to contend with several challenges. He said, “Finance has been a major challenge, especially for people like me that want to achieve many goals. However, I thank God that I’m moving and not at a spot.
“Also, music promotion is a serious issue. It is a major challenge getting one’s song to disc jockeys and music bloggers. Producing the video of the song is another important matter. All these come at great cost but I am steadily moving to establish my feet on the sands of time.”
According to the singer, he is inspired by the ‘voice of destiny’ within him. He added, “My music is inspired by the voice of destiny within me and the things that happen around me. When ideas for sounds come to my mind, I wait patiently for inspiration for the lyrics that would sit perfectly on the beat. God is my biggest inspiration and I intend to sing a lot of gospel songs in the future.”
