Hunters rescue ex-PDP zonal chairman’s widow from kidnappers’ den

Yemi, the widow of the former Peoples Democratic Party Zonal Chairman, late Matthew Kola-Ojo, has been rescued by the Ijumu Local Government Area hunters.

Yemi alongside 14 others were kidnapped on Monday on their way to Lagos after the mandatory mourning period of her late husband. They were kidnapped along Iffe/Egbeda Road, Kogi State.

After several days of patrol by the hunters and vigilantes, the woman and others finally regained freedom from kidnappers’ den.

She said her captors beat and starved them, commending the hunters and vigilantes for rescuing them.

The Executive Chairman of the council, Taufiq Isa, also commended the local security men for their efforts towards curbing criminality in his domain.
