Some MP’s Have Tested Positive For COVID-19


The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin, has announced that some Members of Parliament have been affected by the deadly COVID-19.

The Speaker made it known when addressing some parliamentarians on Friday, January 29, 2021.

“We are not all safe; even at home some members are affected by COVID-19 ”,he stated.

Adding that; “We do not know who the person is, due to the protocols, confidentiality issues, they do not let us know who are now COVID-19 positive, but we have some in that category.”

Hon. Alban Bagbin took the opportunity to warn Members of Parliament to adhere to established protocols indicating that there are reports of some members refusing to adhere to them.

Meanwhile, Ghana Health Service indicated through their official site that the number of active cases in Ghana is now 3,940 with 390 deaths recorded.
