Zamfara bandits kill three, burn food items, animals

THREE persons lost their lives, more than 300 cows were rustled, while food items worth millions of naira were set ablaze by bandits in Magarya village, the home town of the Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly.

In a press statement, the spokesperson for the state House of Assembly, Alhaji Mustafa Kaura, said, “Speaker, Nasiru Magarya, has led a state government’s delegation to Magarya town to assess the level of damage done to the village.”

The Speaker, according to the statement, has sympathised with the people of the area over the attacks by recalcitrant bandits on Tuesday night.

He said, “This cowardly act will not in any way deter Governor Bello Matawalle’s efforts in bringing lasting peace through stick and carrot approach.”
