Baldwin Bazuaye, the newly appointed Technical Director of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Katsina United, says he hopes to bring instant changes at the club.
The ex-international replaces Henry Makinwa, who left the club recently by mutual consent.
It is Bazuaye’s second stint with the Change Boys after parting ways with them in 2017, after he guided the team back to the topflight following a 15-year absence.
“We have a good team and we want to see how we can get back to winning ways as soon as possible. That is the aim,” Bazuaye told The PUNCH.
“We’ve not been given any target but I was brought here to work with the other talented coaches and we’re on the same page on what we want to achieve at the club. The players are already responding to what we’re doing.”
Katsina’s next NPFL fixture will be away to third-place Enyimba, who have won four of their six games this season, but Bazuaye is optimistic they can pick a point against the eighth-time NPFL champions.
“We need to pick something from there. We have to respect Enyimba, they are a good side, but we’re going there to do a job and I hope we can get something good at the end of the game.”
Katsina are 14th in the league table and are without a win in their last three games.
