What is Cholangitis?


Is an infection of the common bile duct, the tube that carries bile from liver to the gallbladder and intestines.

Swollen in the bile duct that prevent free flow of bile from liver to gallbladder.


Bile is liquid produced by the liver.

Bile mainly function, is to assist food digestion.

Cause of Cholangitis

Cholangitis is often cause by bacteria infection.

This can occur when the duct is blocked by something such as gallstones or tumors. The infection that cause cholangitis may spread to liver.
